BioRegion presence at sector events

In 2018, Biocat held a total of 30 events with more than 2,500 participants, actively took part in another 25 events and collaborated on 17 external events.

The BioRegion was at Biospain, one of the most important events in the biotechnology sector, organized by ASEBIO and held in Seville in 2018, from September 25 to 27.

The BioRegion had its own pavilion (photo), coordinated by Biocat, with the booths of Compliance ServicesCSV ExpertsDR HealthcareEnantiaGrifols Engineering and Specipig. AbilityPharmaAnaxomicsCapital CellXRB (Catalan Biotechnology Reference Network)IQSLeitatMolomics and Barcelona Science Park also had visibility.

International visibility

In 2018, Biocat participated in partnering events at various international fairs to raise visibility of companies and research organizations from the Catalan healthcare and life sciences sector and to pitch the ecosystem’s potential to international investors and companies. One of these was BIO Europe, which took place in November 2018 in Copenhagen (Denmark), and the BIO International Convention, the most important biotechnology event in the world, which was held in Boston in June. The Catalan delegation, with 38 companies, was handled through ICEX and Biocat acted as a facilitator.

Also, the second edition of MedFIT took place in Strasbourg (France) in June. Biocat was there, represented by Raquel Riera, Director of Moebio, who gave a talk on challenges in medical technology and strategies to boost innovation.

Bio€quity Europe comes to Barcelona in 2019

Throughout 2018, Biocat worked to prepare for Bio€quity Europe, the main event for investors devoted to the European biopharmaceutical industry, which would take place in Barcelona for the first time in May thanks to the work of the Regional Host Committee, made up of BiocatYsios CapitalACCIÓ and CataloniaBio & HealthTech

Organized by BioCentury and EBD Group, Bio€quity Europe is the most influential event in the sector for investors looking to invest in life sciences companies and experts in biopharmaceutical licenses interested in assessing new business opportunities.
